5 Must-Eats in Bangkok

Five? Only?! Well, these are my personal favourites, and you can find them almost anywhere in the city.

  1. Moo Ping (Grilled Pork)

Ranging anywhere upwards from THB10, this is my ultimate must-have. Some vendors put cheese and charge double for it but my advice is to say no to cheesy temptations! Pick the original ones and eat your hearts out! Consume it while still hot and this charred pork on a stick will leave you wanting nothing but more.

  1. Pad Thai (Thai Fried Noodles)

Where else can you get authentic Pad Thai other than in Thailand?! This dish is a perfect combination of sweet and spicy with a nice tanginess from the freshly squeezed limes. The best part is when you get to watch the chef whip the dish up right in front of you!

  1. 7-11 Sandwiches

Have you seen the selection? Here I’m referring to specifically the shredded pork croissant sandwich. It’s da bomb!!!

  1. Mango Sticky Rice

I haven’t found my go-to stall for this yet but so far every one I’ve tried has been good. You can’t miss this because you can find it literally anywhere. If you’re flying out of BKK Airport, the souvenir shop sells each serving at THB150 that you can spend your leftover Thai Baht on. I usually request for the whole mango uncut and steam the rice when I get home for a little post-Bangkok dessert with the family.

  1. Coffee Beans by Dao

So this little cafe/restaurant used to have a branch at Wisma Atria, Singapore operating under the name Coffee Stars by Dao. After they closed down, I felt so lost and abandoned, until I found this place in the basement of Siam Paragon. I go here for one thing and one thing only - the Devil’s Food Cake. Super chocolatey, ultra rich and definitely unforgettable. If you love chocolate and you love cake, please please please make it a point to visit here.

So here sums up my top 5 favourites. If you have something to recommend, leave us a comment below!
